How to use google analytics for my website?

Postby Leennna » Sun Aug 07, 2016 8:09 pm

I know the basics but I want to know the advance use so that I can make out what my readers want and where they come from.

Hello Leena,

Since you know the basics I don't need to tell you about the basics. About the advanced uses, you can go through your analytics dashboard and go through each and every option to know what they are for.

However, let me tell you few important ones.

To know from where you are getting traffic from:

Open Analytics of your site, and go to Acquisition => All Traffic => Source/Medium

It will list you all the sites from where you got the traffic.

To know with which keywords your blog is getting traffic from search,

On the same page, just below the graph, you will see => Primary Dimension: Source/Medium Source Medium Keyword Other

Just click on Keyword, and it will list the keywords.

To know which pages or posts are getting traffic

Click on Other => Acquisition => Landing page

It will list all the post/pages on which you are getting traffic.

Note: by default only 10 results are shown on each page. You can look for Show Rows, and select 100 or 500 or others to show more results on the same page.

These are some important stuff. However, if you get some issues while checking, do ask the issue by replying to this thread itself.

Hope it helps!
