Problem with sitemap indexing

Postby ajaynasa » Fri Sep 09, 2016 3:46 pm

Hi,
I am having an issue with sitemap indexing. The issue is, only half of the URLs are getting indexed. I didn't change anything. But this time when I submitted my sitemap, less than half of the URLs got indexed. Pic is attached below.
Traffic dropped suddenly to 1/4th of the initial traffic.

Here it is:

2 things I changed after traffic dropped. Changed all in one seo plugin with SEO Yoast. And also disabled Google Sitemap plugin. I did these 2 things yesterday only.

This is the new sitemap you have submitted. right?

Sometimes it takes a few days to update in sitemap.

by the way did you check your site in google using site:wwwgamozap.com?

Can you see if fewer URLs are showing as indexed compared to before?

yes I have seen that too. URLs indexed are not less. And The sitemap indexed was 1 week old. Resubmitted the sitemap yesterday also after activating Yoast Seo.
But today when I saw webmaster, result is same. Will wait for 1 week more.

if you can see the indexed URL list using site:wwwgamozap.com, I don't think there is an issue..

but, since you are saying that traffic reduced. Did you try comparing the traffic of now and earlier period and see from which sources, keywords, etc the traffic gone down.

Also, in the sitemap, which URL you submitted?

http://www.gamozap.com/sitemap_index.xml

or any other which is listed on this main sitemap index page?

Any error message you got in webmaster?

I haven't got into such issues though.

if you want you can give access to your webmaster to me, and I will try to find if there is something that i can do to solve it. Without check the webmaster of it, it is difficult to understand the whole scenario.

Yes Atish, I submitted http://www.gamozap.com/sitemap_index.xml
The traffic dropped from 3 main countries USA, Germany and Australia.
Yeah, I realised 1 thing, Just before the day traffic dropped, I got more traffic than usual but it was not referral one. Like 500-600 visitors more. But then next day it went down to 80-90 visitors in a day.
Many keyword lost bro... like: GTA 5, GTA 5 cheats, GTA 5 cheats for ps4 etc etc.. And most of them are core keyword for a game. :(
No issue in sitemap according to webmaster tool.

Ajay,

Check this => https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/webmasters/aMzCO0O8-cI

here it is suggested that site:sitenam.com is more accurate

However, you can try increasing your site's crawl rate, and then see the results after a few days..

For increasing the crawl rate:

On the Search Console Home page, click the site that you want.
Click the gear icon , then click Site Settings.
In the Crawl rate section, select the option you want and then limit the crawl rate as desired.

Do it and see if it helps.

Hope this helps.
