My site's content is being copied

Postby srimanta » Sun Aug 28, 2016 6:07 pm

I'm very worried about my site's content. Recently, I noticed that one of my site's content is being copied. I found many sites who are copying my articles a to z. Those are commercial sites, selling tour packages. They are publishing those articles in their blog section.

How do I prevent them?

While repurposing my articles, I'm changing the published date with recent date. In this way, their copied articles look older than my articles. So, How google consider it that my site's contents are original? Will it effect my site?

Please suggest me whats should I do?

This is serious issue. I have seen my blog posts are being copied too. But, all you can do is to report Google about it so that they can take action. If you can afford, you can do DMCA.

However, Google is smart enough to tackle the copied and real content in most cases.

Here is a good article on Kissmetrics => https://blog.kissmetrics.com/find-remove-stolen-content/ and on Shoutmeloud as well => http://www.shoutmeloud.com/how-to-request-for-url-removal-of-copied-content-seo.html

Hope you can get some help from these articles.

I am also concerned about this. Not only that, many a times, we repost old blog posts so that they can achieve better results. Though the old content is ours, how the search engines are going to decide that, if some other sites have posted the same content few months back?

It may not always be possible to check or set alerts for all of our content and also not all can go for DMCA. So in that situation, what we can do from our side to protect the copyright of our content?

Filing a DMCA complaint is the best way take down the copied content!

However, the guys who post copied content only on their sites, don't outrank you in most cases because since they have only copied articles, they don't get prioritized by Google.
